I have a passion for teaching, and a flair for leading people in their learning journey. I am committed not only to the personal and academic development of my students, but also to my own academic and professional development.
I believe that our role is not only educational, but also motivational. We need not only to give our students knowledge, but empower them to carry on learning. I recognize that the classroom must be a mutually-respectful and supportive environment, and I endeavor to bring a cultural aspect into Science teaching.
I have forged a successful career in the education sector, first as a teacher of Physics and Science at local secondary schools, and now as Academic Tutor of Physics and Astronomy at Massey University. My position at the University, and as President of the Palmerston North Astronomical Society, have made me well-known in the local education and astronomy communities.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the future of individuals and their world.
